how to apply elligel's semi cured nail wraps for beginners

hi angel 💚

usually when you're just starting to learn how to use or apply a product, we want to make sure we remember that practise makes perfect and we aren't always going to get it right. ensuring to focus on the task at hand rather than adding all the "extra" additions like a base coat because until you're a pro, its just not necessary.

we recently made a step by step tutorial for you on our social media but just in case, we listed the instructions in dot points below as we understand everyone learns differently:

  1. prepare your nails: start by cleaning your nails with nail polish remover to remove any oils or residue. trim and shape your nails as desired then you'll want to use the wooden stick in your pack to push back your cuticles.
  2. select the right size: choose the correct size nail wrap that best fits your natural nail, you can do this by holding the clear strip the nail wraps are stuck to, on top of your nail slightly to see which wrap will fit the best. if needed, you can gently stretch the wrap to match the shape and size of your nail.
  3. peel from clear strip: carefully peel off the nail wrap from the backing strip using tweezers or your fingers.
  4. apply the wrap to your nail: place the rounded edge of the nail wrap against the cuticle of your nail and gently press down, smoothing out any wrinkles or bubbles. stretch the wrap slightly to fit the shape of your nail if necessary. we want to make sure that all the edges are smooth and attached to your nail.
  5. cure: using our UV lamp, place your hand under the lights for about 60 seconds. pro tip: once 60secs is up, take your hand out and leave your nails to rest for 30 seconds, you will feel the gel wraps harden during this time. if another 60 secs is needed, this is okay.
  6. remove the excess: using nail clippers to remove any excess wrap by cutting it off & then using your nail file by filing in a downward motion at the tip of your nail. this will create a smooth edge and help the wrap adhere better also lessen the chance of your wraps lifting at the tip.
  7. finish with cuticle oil: once your elligel nail wrap is fully applied, cured & shaped to desire, we recommend applying cuticle oil around the edges of your nails to nourish and moisturise your cuticles.

psssssst.. elligel cuticle oil is coming soon.. we promise 💚

tips & tricks:

refrain from swimming, washing your hands, taking a bath or shower and of course, please refrain from washing the dishes straight after application.. we had a friend who applied elligel nail wraps and wondered why they came off after she did the dishes straight after lol! maybe do the dishes before you do your nails :)

also, having your nails submerged for extended periods of time (6 hours or more) will reduce the effect of the adhesive and therefore, will reduce the longevity of your elligel gel nail wraps.

remember, for the best possible chance at longevity of your elligel nail wraps, read the instructions provided with your pack for specific application tips and techniques.

additionally, as mentioned practice makes perfect, so don't be discouraged if your first attempt isn't perfect – you'll find the best technique for you!

thanks so much for continuing to trust our brand, because we love having you here.

until next time, caitlin & the elligel team 💚
